Marketing covers a very broad spectrum of business activities such as product and brand management, product promotion, public relations and selling. The marketing executive is likely to start his or her career in the position of marketing assistant and be the right-hand man to the marketing manager and gain valuable experience. Marketing executives need to be thoroughly familiar with the company’s products or services as well as the special needs of customers. They plan packaging, branding, pricing, promotions and distribution, advertising and display, market research and identification of marketing opportunities.
