Company Background

Berea Technical College is an independent specialist institution with a strong focus in Electronic Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering , Management, Travel and Tourism and Information Technology.

It serves as a viable avenue for students wanting to obtain higher education qualifications that are issued by the Public Education authorities. It is for this reason that many students spend their first year at Berea Technical College and then continue their studies with credits, which are recognised at any Technikon, like the Durban University of Technology [DUT] or Mangosuthu Technikon.

Berea Technical College is also a nationally registered Examination Centre of the Department of Education and offers the National [N] Certificates in Engineering and Business Studies [N1 - N6], that lead up to the National [N] Diploma. The examinations that are conducted are external and set by the Department of Education. These Certificates and Diplomas are issued by the Department of Education and are credit-bearing at Technikons and have a long history of acceptance by industry and other stakeholders.

The primary directive of Berea Technical College is to provide, accessible, quality and cost effective education, training and development within the prescribed education framework. A significant portion of Berea Technical College’s students are interested in a technically orientated career.
